My Approach

I believe connection to others is vital to our overall well-being. Therapy can be a powerful space to explore how we got to where we are—and how things might change as we move forward. That includes reflecting on our families, relationships, and the ways they’ve shaped us (for better and for worse). By understanding the blueprints we were given, we can begin to thoughtfully reshape our beliefs and the internal stories we carry, creating a healthier internal scaffolding that helps build a life we feel good living.

Many of the relationships in our lives may need care and attention, and that’s an important part of therapy. But often, the relationship that needs the most healing is the one we have with ourselves—the one with the constant commentary. In our work together, I create space not only to understand the facts of your experiences, but also to explore the meaning you’ve made of them. We’ll gently untangle what happened and why parts of the story may feel stuck, shameful, or unfair. While we can’t ever control what happens to us, we do have choice in how we respond and move forward.

I find real purpose in collaborating to bring light to places that may have long felt dark. Although I received my education in faith-based institutions, I take each client’s lead in how—or whether—faith and spirituality are integrated into our work. I am also LGBTQ-affirming and committed to creating a safe, respectful, and genuinely welcoming space for every person who walks through my door.

My approach is relational and strength-based. While therapy often focuses heavily on problems, I also think it's important to recognize how some of the strategies that helped us in the past may no longer serve us—and that’s okay. Therapy can be a space to reflect, reimagine, and move forward with intention.
